To create recovery records or volumes use the field “additional parameters” in the preset configuration or the save panel.
#Betterzip extract with password archive
You can have BetterZip collect a list of archive passwords. BetterZip will offer to repair archives automatically, when you try to open and extract them or when errors are found during testing. The new archive password manager helps you work with encrypted archives like no other archiver does. With the rar tool installed, BetterZip can also recreate lost volumes, if recovery volumes are available and repair damaged archives, if the archive was built with enough recovery records.

With this options enabled, BetterZip will download and install new versions automatically. To do this click the button Set Master Password (7) and enter your desired password twice. First, you need to set a master password that guards the password manager’s settings and passwords. It supports more than 30 archive formats, so it won’t be a problem for you to open or compress any files. The app brings your universe of files to your fingertips, organizing it all beautifully. To have BetterZip regularly check to see whether a new version of the rar tool is available, check the option below the install button. To activate the password manager and modify the list of passwords, go to the tab Passwords in the preferences window. BetterZip is a handy compression tool, which makes it a breeze to both unzip files on Mac and compress them within seconds. RAR archives can be password encrypted and split into multiple volumes. Once BetterZip knows the correct path to the rar tool, you can save and create RAR archives as if BetterZip had it built in. Go to Prefences > Helpers and click the Button Download & Install Rar. You will have to purchase it separately from win.rar GmbH.
Please note that BetterZip does not include a rar license. To create and save RAR archives, BetterZip can download and install the rar commandline tool from the win.rar GmbH web site or you can tell BetterZip the location where you have it already installed. BetterZip has unrar capabilities included that let you open and extract rar archives.
